Review: Throwback by Maurene Goo (Spoiler-Free)

Mean Girls meets Everything Everywhere All at Once. A match made in heaven.

This book accomplishes everything it sets out to accomplish and it does it effortlessly. The story flows at a perfect pace with the exact right beats hit along the way. It balances generational trauma with romance, heavy emotion with hijinks, and wraps it all up in a neat little bow.

I would LOVE to see this as a movie—it really takes the essence of a good 90s flick and melds it perfectly with modern-day themes and a light sci-fi edge.

Can't wait to see what Maurene Goo writes next!
