Review: Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J. Maas (Spoiler-Free)

Let me be the beacon to tell you—it's okay to dnf books/series even when you're thousands of pages into them!! It's also okay to love specific books in series and only keep/reread those ones (I'm looking at you The Assassin's Blade, Throne of Glass, and Queen of Shadows.)

This book is just too damn long and I lost too much interest. I loved how this series started—with an assassin and a game to work by the king's side. And I do love how it evolved over time, but for me, the end of that original arc ended in Queen of Shadows and it's been downhill ever since.

Those three books are still all-time favorites, and honestly knowing that now makes me even more excited to re-read them again because I won't dread having to re-read the other books too.
