Review: Everyone in This Room Will Someday Be Dead by Emily R. Austin (Spoiler-Free)

I wonder if anyone really identifies as the adult they’ve morphed into.

Duh, of course an Emily would write a perfect book.

Here's the thing. Does this book say anything I haven't thought myself before? No. Of course it doesn't. But it arranges these thoughts into a work of art. One that's funny and hopeless and deranged and poignant.

Does the main character make you want to scream? Of course she does. But she also makes you want to curl up in a ball on the floor next to her.

I was in the mood for some no-plot lit fic, and this delivered. I'm obsessed with the narrative voice and I'm excited to read more of the author's work.

P.S. The last line of this novel is immaculate.
